Both events will be at the Manzanita Library and are open to the public. \nOn Membership Day\, Oct. 30\, from 3 to 6 p.m.\, join the Friends or renew your membership. When you do\, you will earn a raffle ticket for Cloud & Leaf Bookstore gift certificates. You can also choose a free book from the daily used book sale. If you bring a friend who becomes a member\, you’ll earn an extra raffle ticket. \nThen on Halloween\, the Friends are hosting Children’s Day: Books for Treats\, where trick-or-treaters can choose a free new book instead of candy. Books for toddlers to teenagers will be available. Cider and doughnuts will also be served. The event begins at 3 p.m. on Oct. 31. \n​ \nThe Friends of the Library own\, maintain\, and improve the library building and grounds. Books for Treats is made possible in part by a grant from the City of Manzanita. \n
