Client Connection Workshop – No-Cost

The Client Connection Workshop

No-Cost – Oct. 24th, 9:00-Noon

Whether you work with customers, clients, patients, residents, students, or the public, difficult conversations are part of the job. People may be frustrated, angry, disappointed, or simply worried, and when emotions run high, even a routine interaction can become challenging.

The Client Connection is a practical, interactive workshop designed to help you feel more confident when those moments arise. Participants learn how to respond to upset people respectfully, calm tense situations, and communicate effectively without making the situation worse.

The workshop also looks beyond the immediate complaint. Sometimes what a person is angry about on the surface isn’t the real issue. Participants learn how to recognize what may be driving someone’s frustration and respond to the underlying need, not just the complaint.

Through discussion, real-world scenarios, and hands-on exercises, participants will practice how to:

The goal isn’t to make difficult conversations disappear, it’s to give you and your teammates the skills to handle them well. When people feel heard and respected, even when they don’t get the answer they hoped for, you have a better chance of preserving the relationship and building trust.

Better prepared employees create stronger connections—and stronger connections are good for everyone.

Please register to join this no-cost, virtual workshop. Space is Limited.

Get to Know Your Sewing Machine! with Cindy Erickson and Heart of CARTM

Saturday, August 29, 2026

1:00–4:00 PM

HoC Studio | 395C Nehalem Blvd, Wheeler, OR

About the Class Beginner-friendly, hands-on class to learn sewing machine setup, care, and stitching basics—then create something new using reclaimed materials. This class is designed for you to learn on your own sewing machine, so please bring yours (including the manual) to use during the session.

What You’ll Learn

What to Bring Your own portable sewing machine (in good working order) and its instruction manual. If you don’t have the manual in hand, they are widely available for download online. Scissors and thread will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own if preferred. All other materials will be provided.

Please Note Class begins promptly at 1:00pm. To keep things flowing smoothly for everyone, please plan to arrive a few minutes early to get settled before we start.

Keep in Mind Learning to sew is like learning to play an instrument—it takes time and practice. Once you understand the basics, your skills (and imagination) will grow with every project. This class is a perfect starting point for future sustainable sewing workshops at HoC

Pain Integration Experience

Pain Integration Experience is a free community class at Graceful Waves for anyone dealing with ongoing, occasional, or cyclical pain.

This experiential evening offers a powerful process for pain relief, awareness, and integration. While no specific outcome can be guaranteed, many people have found this process helpful for shifting their relationship with pain and experiencing meaningful relief.

Dr. Dawn will guide participants in exploring pain through awareness, movement, sound, and presence — helping to make pain something we can listen to, understand, integrate, and transform.
