Sordid Lives by Del Shores is a dark comedy about a quirky Texas family thrown into chaos after the scandalous death of their matriarch.

Long-buried secrets and eccentric personalities collide as the family gathers for her funeral, resulting in hilarious and heartfelt moments.

With a Tammy Wynette-obsessed drag queen, an ex-con, a closeted actor, a crazy therapist, and plenty of other colorful characters, the play explores themes of acceptance, forgiveness, and love amidst the family’s hilarity and dysfunction.

RATED MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY: ‘Sordid Lives’ is intended for mature audiences. The play contains comedic depictions of sensitive topics, including infidelity, mental health, LGBTQ+ issues, strong language, sexual content and innuendos, and situations not suitable for children or some younger audiences. Audience discretion is advised.

What you’ll learn: Students will learn how to create the Bull’s Eye quilt pattern, and make the top of the quilt. Students may create any size quilt they wish. The suggestion is to start with 9 blocks, however students are welcome to add to that size at home.

Class: Hand Embroidered Folk Art Ornaments

Optional/Additional Kit Fee: $20.00 | The kit includes a piece of felt, stabilizer, template plastic, several skeins of embroidery floss, sequins & beads, beading thread & beading needle, and the use of the instructor’s marking tools. Students will still need to bring, embroidery needles, scissors, a hoop (if you wish to hoop the work), and a thimble if you like using one.

These ornaments are made of felt (or wool), embellished with an assortment of simple hand embroidery stitches, beads, and sequins. They can stuffed and made into holiday ornaments, or stitched onto other projects (or garments) as colorful embroidered appliques. There are a number of different critters and a few other Folk Art motifs to choose from. They are perfect for Christmas ornaments and make great hostess gifts, so you may want to make a whole menagerie.

The class is suitable for all skill levels from beginners to accomplished stitchers.
